How to Read a Supplement Label

A repeatable reading order for serving size, ingredients, amounts, warnings and the questions a front-label headline cannot answer.

Start with the exact product

Match the name, brand and format before comparing information from different places. A capsule product and a powder with a similar name may not have the same formula. Keep the SKU or a clear label photograph with your notes so you can identify the item you actually mean.

On this site, Simple Strands keeps its original Simple Cosmetics packaging and Ember keeps its original brand. The retailer name does not replace the identity printed on the product.

Read serving size before the big number

The amounts on Supplement Facts are tied to the stated serving. A serving may include more than one capsule. Record the serving size and servings per container before using price, package count or an ingredient amount to compare two products.

For example, a hypothetical container with 90 capsules used at three capsules per day would provide 30 days. That is an arithmetic illustration, not a direction for Blood60, Simple Strands or Ember. A verified product direction must come from its label.

Separate identity, amount and reference values

Write the ingredient name, form, quantity and unit in separate columns. Percent Daily Value is a labeling reference, not an individual prescription or an overall quality rating. A proprietary blend may disclose a total weight without individual quantities, which limits some comparisons.

If an important amount is missing, mark it as unknown. Do not fill the blank with a number from a research paper or a similar product. An honest incomplete comparison is better than a precise-looking invented one.

Finish with other ingredients and warnings

Review the separate other-ingredients list, allergen information, directions, warnings and storage instructions. The front label is not the whole label. If a dietary preference or medical question matters to your purchase, verify the relevant detail before use.

Save the current package information. Formulations and labels can change, so an old image should not override the item you receive. Continue to the FAQ hub for short answers or the ingredient library for ingredient context.

Educational information only, not individualized medical advice. Read the current product label and seek qualified guidance for personal suitability. Supplements are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease.
